Labour party sells out on Brexit
The Labour Party has sold out to the Tory government over Brexit. In an interview with BBC Look North Jeremy Corbyn this week made clear that Labour believes Britain must leave the EU whatever agreement is reached.
The local Labour parliamentary candidate seemingly agrees. He says, "we need a deal which allows us to have free access to the single market to enable our companies and businesses grow, whilst at the same time no longer being part of the structures of the EU" (our emphasis). A long time advocate of EU membership, Andy now betrays his beliefs and toes the party line in following the lead of Mrs May.
Alex Payton, Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for NW Hampshire, commented "Labour has waved the white flag and given Theresa May a blank cheque to pursue a divisive Brexit. Its obvious they will refuse to give the British people the final say over the Brexit deal, no matter how bad it is."
"A better future is available. The Liberal Democrats will stand up to Theresa May's cold, mean-spirited Britain and against a bad Brexit deal that will cost jobs and put up prices. We will give you the final say on Brexit - with the option to stay in if you don't like the deal on offer."
