Local Election Success

The Test Valley Borough Lib Dems had a stunning set of local elections gaining seventeen councillors in total. The Lib Dems held onto all Borough seats in North Baddesley and Valley Park, included the re-election of long-standing councillor Alan Dowden. Alongside side this, the Lib Dems gained all seven Borough seats in Romsey, which included the election of former MP Sandra Gidley and Romseys youngest ever councillor, Nik Daas.

The Lib Dems also gained every seat on Romsey Extra Parish Council as well as increasing the number of seats on Romsey Town Council by 6. The Town Council now has 14 Lib Dems and 1 Conservative.

Newly elected Parish Councillor, Sally Yalden suprised everyone by narrowly missing out on winning the Borough seat of Ampfield & Braishfield.

In the Southampton City Council elections, the Lib Dems increased their vote by a staggering 22% in Bassett and only missed out on the seat by 16 votes. In Swaythling the Lib Dems increased their vote and gained third place behind labour and the conservatives.
