Local Liberal Democrats have confirmed that well known local campaigner Lucy Sloane-Williams has been selected as the Liberal Democrats candidate for the Candovers, Oakley and Overton in the forthcoming Hampshire County council elections on 4th May 2017.

Lucy has over 22 years' experience as a parish councillor in Overton including roles as Chair of Planning, Vice Chair, member of the Overton Neighbourhood Plan Group. She is currently both Chair of the Council and Highways Representative. During this time, Lucy has served a four-year term as a secondary School governor and ten years as leader of 'Overton Youth' group.

Her early career started in construction but soon moved on to marketing within the pharmaceutical industry both in multinational companies and as an independent consultant working at the interface with hospital pharmacists. Lucy's interests are reflected in her education: health from studying biomedical sciences, small business from her time at Durham University Business School where she assessed the Government's developing Small Firms Advisory Service and environmental protection supported by her post graduate diploma in Integrated Environmental Management.

Today, after years of caring for older relatives, Lucy and her husband are able to enjoy the company of the family's younger generation.

In this years local elections voters have a simple choice continue with the Conservatives or vote for a real alternative - Liberal Democrat.
