Commenting on the results Lib Dem candidate Jo Slimin said "This is a fantastic result and shows that where Liberal Democrats work hard then we can increase our support and take votes from both parties. I would like to thank all who supported me through this short winter by-election campaign and apologise that this time there was just not enough swing to gain another seat for the Liberal Democrats on the Borough. But you can be sure that we will continue to campaign for Tadley."

NW Hants Liberal Democrats chairman Len Gates added "the result shows that the only real alternative the Conservatives in NW Hampshire are the Liberal Democrats. We will continue to campaign across the constituency building on our success in Tadley and look forward to winning council seats in future elections."
