Save Casbrook (Bunny Lane) Recycling Centre

Cllr Sally Yalden standing outside Casbrook HWRC

As residents, we are deeply concerned about the potential closure of Casbrook recycling centre in Romsey. The closure is part of a proposal by Hampshire County Council under its Future Services Consultation.

The issue is personal to us because, without this centre, we will see an increase in improper methods of waste disposal and a decrease in recycling. This will result in more fly-tipping, less recycling, a rise in bonfires, and an increase in CO2 emissions due to the further distances needed to travel to other sites. It will also cause traffic chaos at the Eastleigh or Winchester sites which would have to serve a significantly larger area.

Your local Liberal Democrats are fighting against this tip closure, but we need to show the County Council that there is a large amount of public opposition to their proposals. Will you sign our petition calling on Hampshire Council to keep Casbrook recycling centre open?
